Week #5 Distribution; July 12 [A week]

veg share. 7-12-2010

We are a quarter of the way through our 2010 harvest season. Hitting Week Five means the start of the Orchard Share. Hitting mid-July means the vegetable share is starting to roll into peak season. Hitting the (hot) dog days of Summer means dueling with mounds of produce and the heat of a raging stove versus the cold sweet lure of raw meals.

MimoMex Veggie

  • 1 bunch Kale
  • 1 head Celery
  • 2 Spanish Onions
  • 1 Red Onion
  • 1 Leek
  • 1 bunch Rosemary

Orchard Share

weighing out the sugar plums

  • 2 lbs. Nectarines
  • 2 lbs. Apricots
  • 2 lbs. Sweet Plums

Everyone was really excited for the first distribution of the Orchard Share. However, some members forgot to pickup (most likely since the 4 shares are separated between 4 different lists and whatnot.) Please remember that you have to sign in for every individual share. Several of the share packages have half-share orchard options; Be aware that members are responsible for knowing which week (A or B) they pick up. Feel free to check in with Yolim, Esther or Ryan for a peek at the master list if you have any questions or if there is any confusion regarding your pickup weeks, etc.
