So amazing to see Gaudencia & Martin pulling up in the van. Yeah MimoMex! Everyone at the farm is very pumped for another amazing season with the Southside CSA. And of course, how stoked are we to get our share of local goodness. The rain made getting ready for our first distribution a little hectic for the farmers but on the other hand, Gaudencia said all that water over the weekend (in Goshen it rained some Saturday, all day & night Sunday, tapering off around 9am on Monday) was amazing for planting more corn! Gotta love that!
Week 1 share is a bevy of late Spring goodies.
Here is this week’s Veg Share:
- 1 head Romaine Lettuce
- 1 bunch Kale
- 1 bunch Radish
- 1 bunch Spinach
- 1 bunch Cilantro
- Choice of 1 bunch Sage or Thyme
- 5 Garlic Scapes
The Egg Share was a gorgeous dozen of lovely lovely farm fresh eggs. (Remember, Berry Share starts July 5th & Orchard Share starts July 12th)
We also distributed the Maple Share to the lucky ducks who ordered some yummy New York State maple syrup from Farmer Joe @ Circle C Maple farm.
Didn’t get in on the syrup, well have no fear, because the CSA will be rocking a maple themed fundraiser this season…Think local produce highlighted with maple syrup.
Big thanks to all our volunteers. The first week can be a little stressful & chaotic; You guys made it flow seamlessly! And of course, thanks to all our members who back the Southside CSA, MimoMex Farm, Greig Farm, & Circle C Maple Farm. Your chill flexibility and support of our mission is truly appreciated. And of course, super super super big thanks to the guys @ the Woods. Your space is so amazing; thank you so much for letting us take over with our vegetables; Its not often that you find a business that is so supportive of community! Speaking of community, we were able to donate 2 crates of produce & 2 dozen eggs to the Southside Mission. Keep in mind that if you don’t pick up or if you don’t think you will use a certain item, your food goes to an amazing cause!

Thank YOU for the organizers and volunteers for making the first pick up smooth AND fun, Monday nights with fresh vege and a cocktail outside-what could be better?
And the produce: amazing. I’ve never cooked with Garlic Scape but with a little help from Google here’s what’s on the menu tonight:
