Week #22 – Nov 8 [B week]

Our last week of the 2010 Harvest season. Hard to believe that the holidays are here and the dark days of winter are right around the corner. We have had another bountiful season with Martin & Gaudencia of MimoMex and added another amazing farmer into the Southside CSA family with our Berry share through Norman of Greig Farm. Well, we are most certainly gonna miss our Monday nights together, talking local agriculture, swapping recipes, chomping Lil Mexico burritos, and swilling beer under the stars in the Woods backyard. For those who want a kiss of local produce in their Winter recipes, best shoot us an email fast to sign up for the ever-amazing Winter Suns Winter share. We will be meeting up monthly on Tuesdays at the Woods for Winter Share distribution and on the 4th Monday of every month starting in January at our Southside CSA headquarters for our Broken Stove Beer share & 2011 sign-ups. We will continue our support of the Greenpoint Soup Kitchen through our purchase of Winter Shares for their use and will be sending farm fresh eggs to the Southside Mission Pantry. We will continue the conversation about eating and living local in North Brooklyn on this blog and still have a bevy of community events from the Fall to post up (Man, has this Fall been busy or what!?!) Anyways, thanks for your support of this little project! Hope you can join us at our Harvest Dinner potluck on Saturday!
