YOU HEARD?? We back at The Woods!! Back at our Southside home but even better than just that we will be keeping up our Northside distribution as well with a satellite location at Dolly’s Swing and Dive

2022 we are experimenting with 2 locations. We will return to our roots in the backyard of the Woods with a satellite distribution site across the street from where we have been the past 2 years because of COVID closures. Info linked below!

2022 Distribution Locations: Members will choose one pickup location for entire season:

DOLLYS SWING & DIVE: 5-8pm at 101 Kent Ave/58 N8th

THE WOODS: 630-9pm in the backyard of 48 S4th

Get LOCA LOCAL on MONDAYS w/ SOUTHSIDE CSA. Every Monday evening from May thru November. Choose from a pick-up in either the SOUTHSIDE or NORTHSIDE of WILLIAMSBURG BROOKLYN. After 2 years of distributing at BIBA, Southside CSA returns to the backyard at The Woods. We will also be hosting a satellite distribution up in the Northside, across the street from BIBA in our new satellite at Dollys Swing & Dive.

THE WOODS – 48 S4th – Mondays from 630-9pm: Not only are we back in their most amazing backyard space we have extended the pickup time a smidge to 9pm.

DOLLYS SWING & DIVE – Mondays from 5-8pm: For 2 years we took refuge from COVID closures up at BIBA. Something new is happening in the space, but we will be distributing across the street from the garage & N8th Street Shed of Dolly’s Swing N’ Dive at 101 Kent Avenue. This is our first experiment in dual locations.

Still time to get it on the 2015 Harvest season

Our 2015 season kicks off on Monday May 4th with Week 1 of Berry, Egg, Meat, & Chicken shares. However, don’t fret if you still want to join because it is not too late… Availability of shares — especially half shares — varies but we will do our best to get you lined up with the shares of your dreams. Email [email protected] to get signed up. Below is the general pricing for remaining shares:

(Mostly)Berry Share – 24 weeks – May 4 – Oct 12 (Full – $475; Half – $237.50)
- Berry shares ARE NOT pro-rated for late starts. Norm throws in the asparagus - which is what comes in the share during May- as a bonus and therefore it is not calculated into the share $$ total
(Late start) Egg Share – 18 weeks – June 15 – Oct 12 (Full- $99; Half – $49.50)
Vegetable Share – 24 weeks- June 15 to Nov 23 (Full- $600; Half- $300)
Orchard Share – 20 weeks – July 13 to Nov 23 (Full- $260 Half – $130)
(Late start) Chicken Share – 18 weeks – (Full – $432 Half – $216)
Meat Shares–
- 18 weeks Package 1 (5-8lbs per distro) -$990 -Every week from June 15th to Oct 12th
- 18 weeks Package 2 (8-10lbs per distro) -$1170 -Every week from June 15th to Oct 12th
- 9 weeks Package 1 ($495) Bi -weekly from June 15th to Oct 12th
- 9 weeks Package 2 ($585) Bi-weekly from June 15th to Oct 12th
Circle C Maple – One time distributions several times during the season. Lots of Maple! Lots of sizes! Lots of Grades! Availability depends on the season; Order early to be sure to get your stash of local maple syrup. Prices and sized linked here…

Payment & Deposits

The whole purpose of a CSA is to get $$ to farmers in these lean Winter months, therefore the bigger a deposit you put down now, the better it is for our farmers. In order to encourage people to pay in full, we offer reduced admin fee to those who pay in full at sign-up. It makes life easier for the farmers and the volunteer organizers. However, we also offer several types of extended payment plans so that the CSA is open to all families despite income.

$30 – Early Bird – Payment in Full at sign up
$35 – Regular – 2 payments; Deposit at sign up + Pay in full by June 30.
$40 – 4 Payments – Deposit in May, June, July & Aug. Balance due by Aug 31
$45 – 5 payments – Deposit in May, June, July, Aug, & Sept. Balance due by Sept 31

Please note, there will be a $5 late fee for every late payment. There will also be a $30 fee for bouncing checks.

Online Sign up….

Would you like to sign up for the Southside CSA for the 2015 Harvest season?

Basic dates for the shares: SUMMER 2015

You will choose your share types:

You will choose your size: Whole or half shares Right now the sign ups for A week are closed. We are severely lopsided and need to boost up B week. However, if you are looking to do a full veg + alternating half shares of orchard & berry, let us know and we will work something out.

You will choose your payment plan: Early bird, regular & extended payment plans

You will choose your volunteer shifts. This year the amount has been reduced from 10 to six hours - each share family will do one distribution shift and 1 community shift. You will pick your distribution shift and the type of community shift you want. Once we receive the form, we will contact you within a few days, clarifying any questions, totaling the balance, and choose community shift dates. Once volunteer shifts are penciled into the calendar, we will fill out a receipt, scan and email it to you with your share and volunteer calendar as well as the 2015 Membership agreement. Seems like it could be slightly complicated but we hope it will be easy and smooth….

Get in on local, farm fresh food!

It might seem like Spring will never come but the season of farm fresh vegetables and fruit is right around the corner. So NOW is the time to sign up and become a member of the Southside CSA. Lots of options available for every household size and eating habits. This blog is filled with lots of information about our shares, our farmers, our distribution, our volunteer shifts. Check it all out and then come on down to a SIGN UP EVENT to get in on eating local! What is the Southside CSA? How does it work? How much does it cost? All the answers to all your questions are located on our blog.

How to sign up: Returning members have the option of signing up online. If you are a returning member, email us for the online sign up form. New members must come to a sign up event. It takes about 15-30 minutes to sign up, depending on how many questions you have.

Right now we can pretty much create almost every type of share (within reason). As the CSA fills up there will be less flexibility in the packages offered. Lots of info on the blog about our shares, our packages, our farmers, and our CSA. Don’t forget to check out our great add-ons - Chicken Shares, Meat Shares, Maple Shares, and Beer Club Membership….

Package Spotlight - Oh My Pie!

We organize the shares offered at Southside CSA into packages. This helps us volunteers keep things organized while meeting our farmer’s sales needs. The earlier you sign up, the more likely you are to get whatever type of package your heart desires. We have crafted a big variety of packages — Full Share Packages & Mixed Full -Half Share Packages & Half Share Packages. We tried to make that list complete BUT if you don’t see the combo that fits your needs, let us know what you would like to purchase. At this point we can pretty much put together any type of combination.

This year we have designed the perfect share for those of you who love to support your local farmers but don’t really spend a lot of time cooking up dinners - the OH MY PIE! share. This baker’s combo of the NY Orchard Share & Egg share is the perfect union for those who like to bust out those peach pies, plum cobblers, and egg custards. Of course, you don’t have to be Martha Stewart to rock the Oh MY PIE share. This is also a great purchase for those who like to start their days with a breakfast of local fruits and eggs. Now is the time to sign up for the 2014 Harvest season with the Southside CSA. Very excited about the upcoming season which starts in May and runs until the Monday before Thanksgiving. We are partnered with 5 amazing farms, have a variety of packages for all types of households, and have the best distribution spot around — the backyard of the Woods.
